 WEEK 3

Hi Mike! Apologies in advance—I had a rough day and unfortunately don’t have has much prepared for this week as I would have liked.

Below you can find: (1) a few scenes I would like to break down together (focusing on camera), (2) a rough proposal for my first animation test, and (3) some adjusted (still wip) character iterations for thesis, based somewhat on what we discussed last week.

(1) SCENES

4:33 - 5:16
Very interested in how camera moves do not distract from tension—I notice that I don’t have instincts for camera moves, almost as if I storyboard comic book panels. Also curious about your thoughts toward 5:30 onward, where sometimes the camera actually bobs with the water!

0:05 - 0:57
Camera moves motivated by the dance itself? Really in love with the way that wind acts as strong auxiliary movement + sound

(2) Rough Proposal

Red chases blue out of the castle in the sky; blue falls to his doom (?)

I will be honest, I’m not in love with this idea. Thinking about camera this early in ideation has me really, really stuck. I feel most organic working with characters in environment-less, camera less vaccuums. Will try to think of something different over the weekend most likely. Looking forward to discussing more.

(3) More Character Iterations

Thank you!
